Ukraine Former Minister Killed In Helicopter Crash | Robinson-44 Crash
The former minister of agriculture and food of Ukraine Taras Kutovyi was killed in a helicopter crash in Poltava region, central Ukraine. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine received the information at 4 pm Kiev time that a Robinson-44 helicopter crashed in Poltava region on Monday Oct 21 afternoon.
The helicopter belonged to Taras Kutovyi and since the body of a man was found at the crash site, they confirmed that it was the former agriculture and food minister of Ukraine. Also, the advisor to the Ukrainian minister of internal affairs Mikhail Apostol confirmed on his Facebook page that it was Taras Kutovyi who was killed in the crash.
The Robinson-44 helicopter which was used by the minister is a four-seat light helicopter produced by Robinson Helicopter Company since 1992. The R44 is a single-engined helicopter with a semi-rigid two-bladed main rotor, a two-bladed tail rotor and a skid landing gear. It has hydraulically assisted flight controls.
It has an enclosed cabin with two rows of side-by-side seating for a pilot and three passengers. The R44 has been the world’s best-selling general aviation (GA) helicopter every year since 1999.
The aircraft is operated by many private individuals, companies and flying clubs. It is also a popular choice for police departments.
The Ukraine Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the former minister on the tragical death.
