Summary: Solo requirement work. Departure to Coyote Hills and return. Normal patterns to Spot Charlie with Set Down and Pickup after each pattern.

25:00 5 mile inbound call for Spot Charlie. I was asked to IDENT. My transponder was showing 1200 yet tower said I was squawking some other code. Pressed VFR key to squawk VFR 1200.
