Traveling with a guitar? Here are a couple of things you need to know to start your trip on a high note on a JetBlue flight. A musical instrument is allowed in place of one carry-on item, provided it can be stowed properly under the seat or in an overhead bin.

Although the standard carry‐on baggage size limitations do not apply to musical instruments, if the musical instrument cannot be stored onboard due space constraints, it must be checked at the gate. Such items will be delivered to the gate when the plane arrives at its destination.

NOTE: It’s best to pack your guitar in a hard-sided case or in a case that’s padded well. JetBlue will not be responsible for damage to baggage carried in the cabin or as checked baggage if it’s not packed properly. JetBlue is not required to give musical instruments priority over other carry‐on baggage. All carry-on baggage storage is based on a first‐come, first‐served basis.
