    • The original British Airways was formed in 1919, the current airline was an amalgamation of BOAC/BEA in 1973/74. BA are celebrating the airline they took their name from, they of course are historically linked.

    • @MrFlashjet – The Heathrow Airport Archive I researched, and the airline founded in 1919 was called Instone Air Line. Then it became Imperial Airways. Then BOAC happened. After that, we have the modern British Airways. Correct me if i'm wrong. 🙂

    • Yes the original history is slightly confusing, I am surprised that BA are celebrating 100, but we cannot complain about them trying! (with retro-jets!)
