All movements of Qantas Boeing 747-438(ER) VH-OEJ ‘Wunala’ into Brisbane on July 15 – the last time a Qantas Boeing 747 would ever visit Brisbane. OEJ positioned up from Sydney before operating a farewell joyflight with aviation enthusiasts and Qantas staff onboard followed by a staff event outside Hangar 3. Afterwards, OEJ positioned back down to Sydney. The 747 is an aviation icon, the true representation of longhaul travel, and has served Qantas for 49 years. She will be missed dearly by all. Sadly, VH-OEJ left Australia this afternoon for the last time bound for the Californian Desert for retirement.
