The Beluga XL (Airbus A330-743L) received its type certification from EASA on 13 November 2019.
Before completely replacing the first Beluga family A300-600ST, it will complement the fleet to cope with the high output of Airbus. It will primarily help optimize the transport of the A350 wings as it can transport 2 of them instead of just 1 in the older type Beluga.
