Have you ever experienced a major delay or cancellation with Tiger?
That's the only thing I hear about them and my only concern using them.

If TigerAir is bad this year, I would suggest flying on Qantas this year, this October, I don’t know if I’ll be flying Qantas to Melbourne this year.
I have never experienced a delay or cancellation with Tigerair. I have now flown with them 6 times and all the flights were on time. I have seen they have bad stats for on time performance but I have never been impacted.

I agree that Adelaide is a good airport but personally I think Canberra (being newer) has the edge. 🤔

Yes I just read about the International terminal expansion of Adelaide. I think expected to be finished in 2021. I'll have to try to get a international flight from Adelaide to check it out once opened.
