Germanwings Airbus A320 Taking Off from Leipzig Halle Airport Germany

For years, Germanwings (4U/GWI) had a 100% Airbus A319 fleet, but then parent company Lufthansa (LH/DLH) made them a key part of their new strategy concerning inner-European flights and subsequently they extended their fleet with other aircraft, such as this A320.

The aircraft shown is D-AIPZ, an Airbus A320-200 that first flew in 1991 and stayed in service with Lufthansa until 2013, when it was transferred to Germanwings. It can be seen here, taxiing to and taking off from runway 26R at Leipzig/Halle airport (LEJ/EDDP).
