THIS VIDEO IS A RECONSTRUCTION OF THE FOLLOWING SITUATION IN FLIGHT:

03-JUN-2021. A Delta Air Lines Airbus A320 (A320), registration N320US, performing flight DAL1396 / DL1396 from LaGuardia International Airport, NY (USA) to Orlando International Airport, FL (USA), after departure reported about hydraulic issue and requested to hold. Later the pilot reported that they had lost fluid in one of their systems, about smell of burnt rubber and decided to divert to New York Kennedy International Airport for longer runway.

DEPARTURE: Delta 1396, New York Departure, radar contact, climb and maintain 8000.
DAL1396: Climb and maintain 8000, Delta 1396.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1396, contact Departure, 13… Actually, you know what, stay with me, one second.
DAL1396: Departure, Delta 1396, we’re gonna have to stay with you. I think we may have to go back to Kennedy. We got something wrong with the airplane.
DEPARTURE: Alright, everybody stand-by. Delta 1396, you said you wanna go to Kennedy or LaGuardia?
DAL1396: Probably back to Kennedy for longer runway. We got an issue right now. We’re trying to figure it out.
DEPARTURE: Alright, Delta 1396, if you can amend your altitude, maintain 6000 feet.
DAL1396: 6000 feet, Delta 1396.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1396, do you have any information for me?
DAL1396: Stand by one, please.
DAL1396: Departure, Delta 1396, we got a hydraulic problem. We’re gonna have to hold somewhere.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1396, roger, contact Departure on 135.9, 35.9. that’s Kennedy.
DAL1396: Alright, 35.9, thanks.
DAL1396: Kennedy Departure, Delta 1396, 6000.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1396, New York Approach, Kennedy altimeter 2999.
DAL1396: 2999, we’d like to go hold somewhere, we got an issue with the airplane.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1396, plan ILS RW 22L approach.
DAL1396: Alright, plan for the ILS 22L, Delta 1396.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1396, are you an overweight landing?
DAL1396: We’re gonna need a minute to figure all that out. But we’d like a vector basically back towards Kennedy, if we could.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1396, turn left heading 070.
DAL1396: 070, Delta 1396.
DAL1396: And one more time with the heading, Delta 1396.
DEPARTURE: 070.
DAL1396: 070, 1396.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1396, when able, please provide the general nature of the emergency.
DAL1396: Delta 1396, yeah, it’s hydraulic related. We don’t think we got the gear up, and we’re having some issues with the hydraulic pumps currently.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1396, roger.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1396, you can have ILS 22L or 22R, whichever you prefer.
DAL1396: We’ll take 22L, please.
DEPARTURE: Thank you.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1396, when able, please provide people on board and fuel remaining in pounds.
DAL1396: Sure, stand by one.
DAL1396: And Departure, Delta 1396, we have 25000 pounds of fuel on board and 157 souls.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1396, roger, thank you.
DEPARTURE: And Delta 1396, are you guys overweight?

HOW I DO VIDEOS:
1) I monitor media, airspace, looking for any non-standard, emergency and interesting situation.
2) I find communications of ATC unit for the period of time I need.
3) I take only phrases between air traffic controller and selected flight.
4) I find a flight path of selected aircraft.
5) I make an animation (early couple of videos don’t have animation) of flight path and aircraft, where the aircraft goes on his route.
6) When I edit video I put phrases of communications to specific points in video (in tandem with animation).
7) Together with my comments (voice and text) I edit and make a reconstruction of emergency, non-standard and interesting situation in flight.
