  • Unusual problem. Nice find. The first thing that came to mind was the grounds strap where it bolts to the spar. That can cause a lot of problems. For future reference if you have the boosting socket on the side of the airplane, you can likely buy a plug at Parts for trucks. We did that here and it works great. It bypasses the aircraft battery completely. It would not have helped you in this case, but it might some day. The Cherokee can be hand propped if you can find someone strong enough to do it. I have done it, but I don’t recommend it unless you have some experience. It is a relief to find out a problem is relatively minor after you imagine all the high cost things it could be.

    • Yep Stephen, the dollar signs were floating around the hangar however a fuse I can afford.. thanks for the info..Cheers Chet/

  • Glad it wasn’t anything major! I always sweat that kind of stuff when it happens to my Cherokee. Luckily I have an IA who lets me fix anything that needs it under his supervision. My daughter would have been giving you the “look “ over the Cessna comment, she’s all cherokee😂😂😂

    • Yep I was seeing $$$$ going out the hangar door James. I must agree with your daughter … lol
