Back in the fall I was flying in Wisconsin with my friend Jessica Voruda. We decided to go for a day on the town and head to Washington Island, which is about a 45 minute flight to the east of Green Bay, in the Northwest part of the state.
The day was a blast, and this is just one snippet from that trip. Washington Island was a really special place. It’s somewhere I could even see myself living!
Jessica is not new to aviation, but she has been out of active flying for a while. I was visiting the Oshkosh area for a Redbird Flight Training Conference at the EAA Headquarters.
She trained on tailwheels and actually got her private in a Piper J3 Cub at CubAir in Hartford. CubAir is like a blast from the past.
Jessica has always proved to be a great pilot. Even though she hadn’t done this kind of landing in a Cessna 172 in a while, she did a great job with the soft field landing. Not surprising for her skillset. Not all people are that way. When you’ve been out of flying for a while, typically people tend to get a bit rusty.
All-in-all, it was a fun and a great day flying in Wisconsin in the fall.
