Trip Report (606)
Hah, I'm the guy in the white Nebraska hat in the background. Was just looking for some Denali videos and stumbled on this one. Small world.
Great interview btw. Can't wait to fly one.
Go Big Red!! Should be a good year! It's very Frosty!!
OK, when will they be available?? Somehow, I thought that it was supposed to be fall of 2018?? The interview claims that they are on schedule, do you have a date?
Since 2018 the stated schedule has been entry into service during the first half of 2020. I'd probably guess that that might get delayed to end of 2020 early 2021, but that's just an outsider's guess.
@Leggo My Ego It's been updated several times now!! Any idea why they moved the engine production from Poland to the Czech Rep??
@Dayne Anderson As far as I know it hasn't been updated since day one. As for the engine production move, it's likely for the same reasons companies generally move production, cheaper labor and more relaxed regulations.
Having trouble understanding what he said regarding cruise speed…sounds like he said 225kts…but that cannot be right. Read elsewhere 285kts. Also the new engine should go 4000 hrs before a major inspection is due. Good to have a bit of competition for Pratt & Whitney.
I heard 285 from him on the video with my headphones on, but I can see how it might sound like 225.
@saxomojarf thanks
